We always talk about next year's Halloween as an exciting event, a celebration eagerly anticipated. But, as we go into our modern day, will we… GET RID OF HALLOWEEN?!
Who would've estimated Halloween's rise in popularity throughout the years? But will this celebration be worth keeping?
Commercial companies' advertisements have boasted that their lollies are the best, healthiest, and worthy of praise. But lollies are not all we think about at Halloween… or is it? We all go out trick or treating just for the treat, but should we be really eating all those lollies just that night? No! We shouldn’t! All studies show that eating all the lollies on the very night of Halloween is an incredibly unhealthy choice. (This is also from the perspective of a parent, thank me please!) Are we really going to risk our health for one night? Yes we are. Because we as young individuals are willing to take risks, we want unhealthy lollies, and we need to prove our parents wrong.
Some communities have denied trick or treating because of safety issues posed by incidents with vehicles and strangers. Someone times even I go with my parents, and they keep me safe, whether even it’s just having a spooky dinner with friends. Parents are our safekeepers.
We all know that modern day is constantly changing and developing, so we really can’t tell if modern day will get any more modern! But one thing we all know is that Halloween is a fun day of lollies, socialising with friends and dressing up, and even if our culture may begin to reject this festival, we will still find a way to sneak some of that festivity through.
