  1. DYNASTY OF STYLE


All ages, Free.

Hardcore music and mosh, held every second month in 2026. Hosted by the Australian punk band ‘SPEED’, showcasing metal, punk, grunge and heavy metal for the alternative community. 



  1. Gifts of Mercy Emporium



All ages/18+ (subjective), $15 (subjective) 

Held in a thrift store, smaller venue and mosh featuring many upcoming, smaller bands. Lineups are generally grunge, punk, metal and indie bands. Smaller venues are easier to dip in and out of, and are safer due to store staff ensuring the mosh doesn’t become dangerous. 


  1. The King St Crawl



All ages/Free

Large Annual music showcase for alternative styles. Features hundreds of acts and locations, so all participants can choose which acts to watch and venues to visit from 12pm till late. 



  1. Futureproof Music Fest



All ages, $5 (subjective)

Supports countless young, upcoming artists and bands who are starting their journeys in the music scene or industry. Offers a variety of themed events that cater to a variety of music styles. Large hall venue and smaller room venue. 



  1. The Metro Social

Instagram-RETRO PROM PUMP UP VIDEO

All ages, Free

Live music every Wednesday in the Metro Social (Inside the Metro Theatre on george street). Hosts a variety of genres, including emo, pop, punk, and indie. Takes place at night, 7:00 p.m.


  1. Emom Sydney


All ages, $10 or Pay-What-You-Can

Short setlists of 15 minutes to fit a bigger variety of artists. Showcases electronic style music and a surprise lineup, meaning acts are not announced in advance, and the audience is surprised by performers. Held on the second Thursday of every month.
