I already know what you’re thinking: ‘These aren’t one sentence.’ And you’d be right — but ‘one sentence’ sounds way catchier than ‘two,’ so let’s roll with it.

I have rated these one sentence horror stories from 1 = the stuff of nightmares to 13 = Eh.

  1. My father wasn’t too terrible, but I certainly preferred my mother. Though, in hindsight, I may have simply overcooked him.

  2. To the girl who keeps knocking on my door at night. I’m not letting you out.

  3. I just won a staring contest against a doll.

  4. I've been living with the love of my life for 5 years now, I think it’s more than enough time to finally introduce myself.

  5. “Oops” said the surgeon.

  6. They delivered the mannequins in bubble wrap. From the main room I begin to hear popping.

  7. I've been looking for my sister all day long. But I don’t remember where I put the parts.

  8. The grinning face stared at me from the darkness beyond my bedroom window. I live on the 14th floor.

  9. There was a picture in my phone of me sleeping. I live alone.

  10. My sister says that mum killed her. My mum says that I don’t have a sister.

  11. I just saw my reflection blink.

  12. The last man on Earth sat alone in a room. There was a knock at the door.

  13. A few hours after I was buried alive, I was thrilled when I heard someone digging me out. My joy quickly faded when I realized the sound was coming from under me.

This was my rating ❤️ Let me know what you think.
