“darkness”

you are the darkness.
when i asked you whether you thought
you were the sun, the moon or stars,
you told me you were the darkness.
an abyss you can never find the end of,
a place where secrets are told and tears are shed-
you are the unknown.
you are a shield from reality,
an “if i can’t see you, you can’t see me,”
hidden, not in, but rather as, the shadows.
your eyes are a never-ending void
i seem to get lost in
if i’m not careful.
so, when i asked you,
“well, then what am i?”
you called me a supernova.
a powerful explosion of a star,
a rare eruption of luminosity in the sky
that sinks into oblivion.
so when i’ve fulfilled my potential
of burning bright in the sky,
i will finally collapse into a collage of light.
but, you see, from this light comes you:
the darkness of the black hole
where i will finally seek refuge.
the pupils in my bright blue eyes,
the calm inside the storm,
an unbreakable bond of dark and light.
so, if through your darkness comes my light,
and through my light comes your darkness,
we can never escape each other.
so you may be the darkness,
but i will light up your sky.
Your post inspired a fruitful harvest for me! Previously, I participated in playing the game dordle, which entertained me. Consequently, I have resolved to concentrate on following you and engaging with your works to acquire greater information.
