A Foodie's Guide to the New Year

Sick of the same boring meals in your lunchbox every day? Time to jazz up your recess and lunch with these new, delectable choices! Healthy, nutritious, and definitely more exciting than a soggy cheese and lettuce sandwich (yuck). These ideas will give a kick into your new school year. With a new year comes new food!
Recess
Celery sticks with a small smear of Biscoff spread:
A yummy contrast of sweet and crunchy
If appropriately portioned, it is not too unhealthy, but still not an everyday food.
Toasted Turkish bread, sliced, with hummus:
Filling and easy to pack
Sided with an irresistible chickpea dip.
Chia pudding:
On the sweet side, easy to make the day before and still delicious.
Falafel with hummus:
Healthy
Falafel can be bought/transported in a packet
Grilled eggplant:
Can be enjoyed cold or hot
easy to make the day before and to refrigerate
Fruit salad:
Grapes, watermelon, apple, peach, orange, pineapple and a little bit of juice
Makes a healthy and delicious recess choice
Canned tuna with almost anything:
Can be enjoyed with chilli sauce, soy sauce, veges or added into a small salad.
Savoury muffins:
Cheese and zucchini in a muffin that can be enjoyed hot or cold.
Lunch
Grated veges with olive oil and sesame seeds:
A way to use up all those annoying left over veggies and olive oil
Quick to make and long withstanding in the fridge
Easy poke bowl:
Just use microwave rice, cut up carrots and cucumbers, kewpie mayonnaise and sesame seeds, unbelievably easy!
Quick tortillas:
Just a wrap with a cut on one side going into the middle, veges or cheese on each quarter and folded up side by side
Chicken schnitzel salad:
Just salad with chicken on it, very quick and easy
Couscous with baked vegetables:
Veges include carrots, pumpkin or even sweet potato
For a protein-dense selection, you can also add cut up pieces of steak
Pasta salad:
Fusilli with capsicum, tomatoes, basil and dressing
Easy to make the day before
