Poems: Sweet Vanilla / Valentine's Day

Nat Hardwick

Sweet Vanilla

Porcelain walls held a winter-like aesthetic,

Mahogany drawers like bare trees in a landscape so poetic.

An ebony tv sits upon it like a hungry crow,

Stalking fish as they swim through the rivers icy flow.

Soft Pearly bedsheets like the snow,

They shine like daylight like a diamonds radiant glow.

Filled with the welcoming scent,

Of sweet vanilla.

Valentine's Day

Love is sweet like honey,

Love costs no money.

It can grow strong like an oak tree,

Or it fades fast like a Sakura tree.

Valentine’s day is the day that you confess,

The love you truly possess.
