Note from the Editors

As the year draws to a close and the school halls begin to echo with laughter and the faint hum of Christmas carols, we welcome you to our final edition of The Mary Word for 2025, “The Fright Before Christmas”.

This issue celebrates a whirlwind of festivities that fill Term 4, from spooky Halloween to the warmth of Thanksgiving and finally, the joy (and relief) of Christmas and the holidays. It’s a time when our calendars are as full as our hearts – exams are done, decorations are going up, and everyone’s counting down the days until Summer.

But this is more than just a season of celebration; it’s also a time for reflection. As the year comes to an end, we look back on how far we’ve come, the friendships we’ve made, and the memories that will last a lifetime. Across this issue, you’ll find stories, photos, and creative pieces capturing the global holiday spirit that brings everyone together for gratitude and giving.

Whether you’re sipping a peppermint hot chocolate, recovering from Halloween sugar highs and last-minute costumes or dreaming of the long Summer holidays ahead, we invite you to take a moment, turn the page, and enjoy The Fright Before

Christmas.

Wishing you a restful break, a joyful holiday season, and a bright start to the new year.

With love,

The Mary Word Team
