Weekends always seem to go quickly, but they’re longer than we think. There are 60 hours between that 6 p.m. Friday night and that 6 a.m. Monday alarm clock. So how can we make the most of our weekends? Here’s a couple of tips!
1- Make a plan:
Plan out what you’re doing, who you’re seeing and what school work you’re going to do and if you have anything on that weekend. This allows you to be fully prepared and not miss out on anything. But with saying this you don’t have do something every minute of the day. Schedule some down time! The most important thing is that you relax so you can go back to school/ work on Monday ready for the upcoming week. But don’t let planning ahead keep you from enjoying your time now. Also make it realistic as you don’t want to have a massive to do list and only complete some of the tasks.
2- Go outside
Sign up to play sport on Saturdays, it’s a great way to stay active and make friends. Go to the beach if it’s warm or even a walk around your neighbourhood. You’ll feel great afterwards and it’s a great way to spend your time.
3- Balance your time
Get up early on Saturday to make the most of the day get most of your tasks done, if possible try and finish your homework on Friday afternoon that way you can rest and not have to worry about doing it for the entire weekend. Leave Sunday to be your rest day, have a sleep in. Still do something active though like going for a walk or a swim.
4- Try and not spend so much time on social media
Don’t waste your time on social media, you can check it and see what’s happening but don’t waste a day scrolling through your timeline. Read a book, bake something or go outside.
5- Spend time with family and friends
Go out and catch up with your friends and family. Do something you love doing but don’t have that much time during the week. Make the most out of your time.
